Earth Day 2010!


On April 22, 2010, we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day aptly named “Be the E”. The entire day is dedicated to promoting appreciation and awareness for the Earth’s beautiful environment and encourages the public to embrace sustainable living. The 2010 campaign is based on Gandhi’s awe inspiring quote “be the change you want to see in the world.” Join New York City in promoting this worthy cause!

The Giant Earth Images
(April 19-25; Grand Central Terminal, Main Concourse, Vanderbilt Hall & Vanderbilt Ave.)
The Giant Earth Images exhibit will be projected onto two columns in Grand Central Terminal’s main concourse for 10 hours a day for the entire week and is free to the public. It will feature photographs, inspirational quotes, messages, and artwork from world renowned artists like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and more.

Earth Fair 2010
(April 23rd; noon-7p.m. & April 24th; 11a.m.-5p.m ; Grand Central Terminal)
The two day event called Earth Fair takes place in Grand Central Terminal also and will showcase organic fare, environmental non profit groups, green businesses, live musical performances, entertainment and much more.

Earth Day Arts & Crafts
(April 22, 2-4p.m.; Chess & Checkers House; Central Park)
Earth Day is the perfect day for families to get together and create beautiful nature inspired crafts with the fine people of Chess & Checkers House on April 22, from 2p.m. until 4p.m. It is both educational and free!
